Highlight and heading not working right in IE
Using UE in a web page within Internet Explorer, in Design mode I highlight a portion of the text and select a heading, say, Heading 1.  Instead of just making the portion I highlighted a heading, it makes all the text in the editor a heading.

This problem does not occur in Firefox.

This might happen when LineBreakAsParagraph editor toolbar button is not selected. In that mode line breaks are rendered as <BR>, which causes all the text to be rendered as heading. When you set LineBreakAsParagraph, it renders line breaks as <P> and it should only set heading to the highlighted portion of text. Please refer to our Line Breaks sample at http://www.karamasoft.com/Samples.aspx?component=UltimateEditor&sample=LineBreaks to see how you can initially select the LineBreakAsParagraph buttno when the page is opened.

This isn't satisfactory because paragraphs are indented and we don't want the indentation. 

Why can't you just place the heading tags to either side of what is actually highlighted?  As I said, this works in Firefox.  This is pretty basic stuff.

Paragraphs don't create any indentation in UltimateEditor because ParagraphSpacing property is set to 0 by default.

We will add this issue to our product enhancement list but cannot promise any release date at this point. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Indentation is not an editor issue, it's a browser issue.  In other words, the browser indents <p> differently than <br>. 

If you know offhand how to change this I'd appreciate the tip.

We are not quite sure if we understand the issue. So you mean <p> looks fine inside the editor but it looks different when you place the editor content to your page?

Sorry, this was a CSS issue on my side.  However, I do appreciate your considering working on getting highlight and heading working with <BR>.   We have a lot of legacy content which already uses <BR> instead of <P>.

With the release of UltimateEditor3.1, heading issue for highlighted text issue is now fixed. Please visit the Release History page at http://www.karamasoft.com/UltimateEditor/History.aspx to see the changes and download the latest version from our website and try again.
