Preserving the Resizable capability in UltimateEditor when all tabs are hidden
Hi everyone,

Can someone tell me if it is possible to retain the sizable handle on an UltimateEditor control while the tabs are not visible? I tried to trick the control into showing it by setting the "DisplayCharCount="True"" but to no avail. The resize handle still disappears leaving the word count to float over the thin border. This can be easily duplicated by modifying the file /Samples/Feature/EditModes/EditModes.aspx. Set the DiplayCharCount="true", then run the exemple and hide all the tabs.

kswc:ultimateeditor DisplayCharCount="true"
Ideally we would like to be able to resize the control even though no tabs are visible.

Thanks.

You should set the height attribute of the EditorResizeHandle class in your UltimateEditor.css file as follows:

.EditorResizeHandle {
background-image: url(Images/Resize.gif);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-position:r ight bottom;
padding-left: 20px;
cursor: se-resize;
-moz-user-select: none;
-webkit-user-select: none;
height: 21px;
}

This solution works!

 Re: Preserving the Resizable capability in UltimateEditor when all tabs are hidden
Hi!

Finally it seems like it only works for the «Full» editor, I validated that by modifying the demo code... and the «Basic, and Standard» editor does not provide the status bar at ALL even with the values in the style sheet.

Any suggestion?

The editor doesn't have to be in full mode. We tested it with the EditModes sample, which uses the default standard mode. You can try the following editor setting in the EditModes sample:

<kswc:ultimateeditor id="UltimateEditor1" runat="server" Width="100%" TextBoxHeight="150" DesignTabVisible="false" HtmlTabVisible="false" PreviewTabVisible="false" DisplayCharCount="true" Resizable="true"></kswc:ultimateeditor>

with the changes for EditorResizeHandle class in the editor css file (height: 21px).

Hi guys,

I just tried it now directly on your demo site and I cannot see the status bar! Sorry :-(

We don't know how you tried it on our live demo site but you should try the code sample in our previous response on the sample app that comes with the product installation. You should also let us know what specific browser and version and operating system you are testing on.

Re: Preserving the Resizable capability in UltimateEditor when all tabs are hidden
We tried it on Win 8.1 - IE 11 and it shows the resize icon properly and you can resize the editor content area by dragging the icon. Please make sure that you use the following:

<kswc:ultimateeditor id="UltimateEditor1" runat="server" Width="100%" TextBoxHeight="150" DesignTabVisible="false" HtmlTabVisible="false" PreviewTabVisible="false" DisplayCharCount="true" Resizable="true"></kswc:ultimateeditor>

with the changes for EditorResizeHandle class in the editor css file (height: 21px).
