 ISSUE: Multiple spell checker on a page.
Hi,

I am bulding an application in ASP.NET MVC 4.0 & my requirement for a particular page is to have Multiple spell check buttons for a multiple textareas. Basically, 1 textarea has 1 spell check button.

I tried adding the spellchek buttons using the above scenerio & below code.

CODE:
textArea1: <textarea id="textArPopUP" class="spell"></textarea><br />
@(Html.UltimateSpellMVC()
.SpellAsYouType(true)
.SpellButton(sb => sb
.Height(40)
.Width(75)
.CSSClass("button buttonGreen buttonBlue")
.BackColor(System.Drawing.Color.RoyalBlue)
.Font(ViewBag.SpellButtonFont)
.ForeColor(System.Drawing.Color.White))
.CustomDictionary("CustomEnglish")
.ControlIdsToCheck("textArPopUP")
.ShowAddButton(true)
.ShowOptions(true)
.Render())

PROBLEM:
The spell check button for 1 textarea checks for all the other text areas on the same page. Inspite of using the property (ControlIdsToCheck("textarea_id")), it checks for all the text areas in the page.

Does anyone have any idea why ControlIDsToCheck isn't working and regardless of their set value, UltimateSpell checks both textbox controls?

Thanks in advance.

If you have multiple UltimateSpellMVC controls, you need to set the ControlIdsToCheck for all of them. Otherwise, it will check all editable text areas. If this doesn't help, you can send us a self-contained web app having the issue so that we can try it in our test environment.

Ok, the below link has the self-contained web app having the issue.

You can test it in your IDE & revert any queries you have.

Thanks in advance.

Re: ISSUE: Multiple spell checker on a page.
As we mentioned in our previous post, you need to set the ControlIdsToCheck property as follows:

textArea1: <textarea id="textA" class="spell"></textarea><br />

@(Html.UltimateSpellMVC().ControlIdsToCheck(
"textA").SpellAsYouType(true).SpellButton(sb2 => sb2.Height(40).Width(60).CSSClass("buttonSmall buttonGreen buttonBlue").Text("Button1").BackColor(System.Drawing.Color.RoyalBlue).Font(ViewBag.SpellButtonFont).ForeColor(System.Drawing.Color.White)).CustomDictionary("CustomEnglish").ShowAddButton(true).ShowOptions(true).Render())<br />

textArea2:
<textarea id="textA1" class="spell"></textarea><br />

@(Html.UltimateSpellMVC().ControlIdsToCheck(
"textA1").SpellAsYouType(true).SpellButton(sb1 => sb1.Height(40).Width(60).CSSClass("buttonSmall buttonGreen buttonBlue").Text("Button2").BackColor(System.Drawing.Color.RoyalBlue).Font(ViewBag.SpellButtonFont).ForeColor(System.Drawing.Color.White)).CustomDictionary("CustomEnglish").ShowAddButton(true).ShowOptions(true).Render())
