Background images

Can I set the background to an image file but still set the text in the xml? (Image does not contain text for menu item.)
How do I do this?

TIA,
Leapfrog

Re: Background images
You can set background-image CSS property in your CSS file as follows:

.WindowsXPGroup
{
 background-image:url(../Images/XPBackImage.gif);
 background-color:#fffff0;
 border-color:#000000;
 border-width:1px;
 border-style: solid;
 padding:1px;
 cursor: default;
}

Re: Background images
Hi,

I am having trouble with getting this working and have a couple of questions:

1. Is this a background image for the complete menu ? We have a menu where the contents are created on the fly and want a single background image that the text in the variable number of menu items appears over the top of. It is a complex image and would be very very complex to have background images at the level of each menu item.

2. What is the relationship between the path in the URL and the imagepath variable in the xml ?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Keith T

Re: Background images
1. The given sample above is for a submenu. Similarly you can set a background-image for a menu item using its CSS class. You don't need to set the bg img for each menu item. All you have to do is to set it inside the CSS class that you use for all your menu items.

2. There is no relation between the two. Therefore we stronngly recommend you to use an absolute path for background-image such as "/images/myimage.gif" so that it can find the image from all menu items regardless of the location of your web page.
