Hi, is it possible to implement database based custom dictionary? I know UltimateSpell only supports file-based one off the box, but is it possible to override the API so I can implement my own?

Dictionaries must be file based.

I realise the ease of using files but it raises a problem for the use of Custom Dictionary on Web Sites.
The user must be given Write privileges to the Custom Dictionary folder on the Web Server - which goes against all security advice on web servers.
I can live with the user not changing the main dictionary, but the Custom Dictionary is another matter.
I have a web site with 100 separate Custom Dictionaries - one for each client.

Which user are you giving write access to? Normally giving write access to Network Service should be sufficient. If you want to customize the behavior for adding words to custom dictionary you can refer to the server-side API methods such as AddWordToCostom in Speller class.
